Old World Christmas Purple Fleur-de-lis Ornament

Fleurs-de-lis, or "flower of the lily," is a symbol of purity and perfection. When Pope Leo III crowned Charlemagne as Emperor, he presented him with a blue banner covered with fleur-de-lis. Eventually, the fleur-de-lis became the French royal emblem, associated with French culture and heritage.
